Everton set to test Swansea’s resolve over Sigurdsson
Gylfi Sigurdsson is being targeted again by Everton – but the Toffees will have a hard time convincing Swansea to do business.
Everton wanted Sigurdsson in the summer but the Swans were insistent their playmaker was not for sale.
Now armed with a £50million transfer kitty, Ronald Koeman reportedly still fancies bringing the Iceland international to Goodison Park.
The figures touted in the summer would mean the Toffees would have to spend over half that fund on Sigurdsson, but Wales Online reports Swansea would still be loathe to lose the attacker, who has scored five goals in 20 Premier League appearances this term.
The Daily Telegraph also reports that Leicester, Roma and Inter Milan are also monitoring Sigurdsson’s situation.
But with Swansea struggling at the foot of the table and following the arrival of new boss Paul Clement, the club are unlikely to sanction the sale of one of their joint top scorers.
