One of Carlo Ancelotti’s key players from his time at Everton has been called by the Italian about a move to Real Madrid, a report has claimed.

Ancelotti has returned to the Spanish capital for a second spell in charge at the Bernabeu. His sudden exit to replace Zinedine Zidane came as a massive shock to all at Goodison Park. Not only did it raise a number of questions about the club’s future, but it also threw a cloud of uncertainty over some of their star men who may subsequently be poached.

One such player is James Rodriguez. The Colombian was encouraged to move to Merseyside by Ancelotti, so without him in the dugout at Goodison Park, it seems unlikely that he will stay.

And the appointment of his old foe Rafa Benitez as new Toffees boss has reportedly made it almost certain that he will be leaving this summer.

He was linked with a reunion with Ancelotti. However, it appears now this will not be happening. Instead, a deal to take Rodriguez to AC Milan is said to be close to being completed.

Another one of Ancelotti’s favourites who has been rumoured to follow him to Spain is Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The striker flourished under the veteran manager’s guidance.

He enjoyed the best season of his career to date with 19 goals in 39 Premier League games. His form earned him a place in England’s Euro 2020 squad.

However, it is another one of the Toffees’ attacking threats that Ancelotti has contacted about linking up once more.

Chelsea offered Barcelona attacker for cheap due to the financial crisis at the club, Aston Villa to make third bid for Arsenal starlet and Tottenham to lodge opening bid in the race for Jules Kounde, all in today's transfer chatter.

According to Goal, the 62-year-old recently phoned Richarlison to discuss a potential move.

The forward is currently preparing for Brazil’s Copa America showdown with Argentina on Sunday. He has featured heavily in the competition and has scored twice on his country’s path to the final.

The report states that Ancelotti is eager to make him a Real Madrid player. Despite talks only being in the infancy stage, it is suggested they could progress into an offer in the coming weeks.

ESPN Brasil also believe Ancelotti is trying to lure Richarlison to Real.

Everton stand firm on Richarlison’s teammate

Meanwhile, Everton are reportedly unwilling to allow forward Moise Kean go out on another loan. Instead, they will only let him leave on a permanent deal.

Kean, 21, has yet to show his true colours for the Toffees after arriving from Juventus in August 2019.

The Merseysiders paid the Old Lady €27.5m plus €2.5m in add-ons for the Italy star. But they have yet to see much of a return. Kean scored twice from 29 Premier League outings during his first season.

He began the 2020-2021 campaign with the Goodison Park outfit. But he left on loan for Paris Saint-Germain in October. It proved to be a successful temporary stint in the French capital.
