Everton tipped to move for Serie A flop with €135m release clause

Carlo Ancelotti is being tipped to try and ‘convince’ Everton to launch a bid for Napoli ace Hirving Lozano in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old completed a £35m move to the Serie A side last summer, having scored an impressive 21 goals in 40 appearances for PSV Eindhoven last season.

Toffees boss Ancelotti worked with Lozano for almost three months before he was dismissed by Napoli at the start of December.

And according to journalist Niccolo Ceccarini, the 60-year-old could persuade Everton chiefs to bring the player nicknamed ‘Chucky’ to Merseyside this summer.

“Lozano’s farewell is very likely in June,” he wrote in his column for Tuttomercatoweb.

“The Mexican tip is not finding his place, and he was a 40 million euro investment. Ancelotti could convince Everton to buy him outright.”

That had led to murmurs of interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton both keen on signing the 30-year-old. Read more…
