Everton have made a concrete offer for Ecuador international and Chelsea target Moises Caicedo, according to a report.
Caicedo, 19, has been heavily linked with Manchester United in recent weeks.
Independiente del Valle general manager Santiago Morales has though confirmed Manchester United haven’t made any contact for the midfielder.
Instead El Telegrafo claimed Chelsea had made contact over the potential signing of the player, who is already a full Ecuador international.
Now though Everton have joined the race and they appear to be further down the line with a deal after making “a proposal”.
Diario Extra’s headline is: “Moises Caicedo, between Everton and MLS.”
Carlo Ancelotti’s men and a mystery MLS club are in the race for the player, with Independiente del Valle ready to sell.
The report (via Sport Witness) claims Independiente are in talks in the window and are “waiting” to see which club will bid the most for his services.
Morales told Ecuadorian radio station Mundo Deportivo EC: “We have received a proposal from a European club for (Caicedo). We are also looking at an MLS proposal,” he said.
“Let’s hope that no later than Thursday we can close the negotiation for Moises Caicedo.”
Everton chase Eriksen
Meanwhile, Everton have expressed an interest in wantaway Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen, reports in Italy claim.
Eriksen joined Inter Milan from Tottenham last January, but his move to Italy has not gone to plan.
Inter have already put the playmaker on the transfer list after he struggled to find a regular role in Antonio Conte’s plans.
There will be fierce competition for the 28-year-old in the January transfer window. He reportedly would consider returning to Tottenham, but that seems unlikely.
Instead, he has been heavily linked with a move to rivals Arsenal. More recently, interest from Wolves emerged.
Now, yet another candidate has emerged to take him back to the Premier League. According to La Stampa, Everton have enquired about signing Eriksen.
