Everton weighing up move for £27m Sigurdsson alternative
Everton are reportedly considering a move for Las Palmas playmaker Jonathan Viera as an alternative to Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Toffees look increasingly unlikely to be willing to match Swansea’s £50m valuation of the Iceland star so are now looking elsewhere to strengthen their attacking midfield options.
Ironically, Viera was being lined up by the Swans should Sigurdsson move to Goodison Park but they would clearly be in favour of keeping their star man instead.
Marca reports that Everton are prepared to meet Viera’s release clause of £27million, as Ronald Koeman looks to bring in another addition in what has been an incredibly busy summer for the Toffees so far.
The 27-year-old former Spain U-21 international was involved in 14 goals, either scoring or assisting, last season as Las Palmas secured a mid-table finish in la Liga.
