Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Andrew Moran is a loan target for Blackburn Rovers, TEAMtalk understands.
Moran is a versatile and talented young player who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger on either flank. The 19-year-old shone with Brighton U21s in the Premier League Two division last term, notching 10 goals and six assists in 19 appearances.
He was handed his senior Premier League debut against Everton in January and has been named on the bench in 12 other league games.
Moran’s exciting development has seen him called up to the Republic of Ireland U21s team, where he has won five caps and bagged one goal so far.
Moran, who was signed by Brighton from Republic of Ireland side Bray Wanderers in 2020, is highly regarded within the corridors of power at the Amex. He was rewarded with a new long-term contract in April, as exclusively revealed by TEAMtalk.
Brighton have yet to make a decision on whether to loan the starlet out and are currently weighing up offers for him before finalising the next stage of his development.
In 2021, sources told TEAMtalk that Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea were keeping a close eye on Moran.
Blackburn want Brighton starlet Moran
Moran could head to Ewood Park next though as TEAMtalk has been told Blackburn have held discussions with Brighton over a loan switch. Rovers are aiming to steal a march on a number of Championship rivals by getting to the player first.
Blackburn have made Moran one of their top targets as they attempt to improve their attack ahead of next season. Ben Brereton Diaz is expected to join Spanish outfit Villarreal on a free transfer when his contract expires, while influential star Bradley Dack will also depart the club this summer after a six-year spell.
