Bristol City star Bobby Reid is having a medical at Cardiff now after a fee, believed to be in region of £10million, was agreed.
The departure of Reid would cap a bad 24 hours for the Robins, as key defender Aden Flint is also apparently set to sign for Middlesbrough.
Bristol City vice-chairman Jon Lansdown recently issued an update on the situation surrounding in-demand players at the club.
Speaking to BCTV, he explained: “Bobby scored 20 goals last year which was an incredible achievement and there’s an obvious value on that, so it’s not surprising he’s being linked with clubs.
“Joe [Bryan] over the last few years has been one of the top full-backs in the division and the stats back that up.
“From our point of view we’d be delighted to be able to keep locally grown players here for life.
“But if they do progress beyond us during that then they would do so with our blessing as long as it’s the right move for the club.”
