EXCLUSIVE: Wantaway Celtic midfielder top target for Southampton

Southampton are ready to firm up their interest in Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham after seeing Weston McKennie move to Juventus, TEAMtalk understands.

Now Southampton – who are looking to bolster their midfield after selling Pierre-Emile Hojberg to Tottenham – are again on the trail of French star Ntcham.

Ntcham’s situation has changed in the last few weeks following Celtic’s defeat in the Champions League.

He, along with team-mates Kristoffer Ajer and Odsonne Edouard, are now pushing for their departures.

With no Champions League money, Celtic know they need to sell to do business themselves and Ntcham is very much at the head of the queue to depart.



Southampton are one of four Premier League teams that interested in Dundee United youngster Lewis Neilson.

Leicester, Everton, Leeds and Saints all had scouts at Tannadice last Saturday, according to The Courier. Neilson was in action against Scottish Champions Celtic.

The 17-year-old was substituted after 6o minutes. United lost the game to a late Albian Ajeti goal.

Neilson has three years remaining on his contract and is very happy at his boyhood club. It would likely require a seven-figure sum to prize him away.
