Sources: Chelsea put hugely talented star on exit list as Sheffield United, Burnley plot ambitious moves

TEAMtalk understands Chelsea are set to make highly rated young midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka available for loan this summer, with newly promoted sides Sheffield United and Burnley both interested.

Chukwuemeka is a product of the Aston Villa academy. He made 16 senior appearances for the West Midlands club before moving to Chelsea in August last year.

Chukwuemeka refused to pen a new contract with Villa and Chelsea capitalised by signing him in a deal worth around £20million.

The England U20 international has gone on to play 12 times for Chelsea this season, although his game time has been sporadic. Only two of those outings have lasted longer than an hour.

Chukwuemeka knows his chances of playing regularly for Chelsea next season look limited. TEAMtalk has been told his name is already being circulated on the loan market ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

Two of the sides showing an early interest in him are Championship winners Burnley and Sheffield United, who have also gained automatic promotion to the Premier League.

However, they are not the only teams to like the look of Chukwuemeka. Clubs in Germany and Holland have also been alerted to his possible availability.

Chukwuemeka may follow Dujon Sterling out of Chelsea

The 19-year-old becomes the latest player to be linked with a Chelsea exit. On Friday, TEAMtalk exclusively revealed how right-back Dujon Sterling is poised to join Rangers.

But while Chukwuemeka is preparing to leave Chelsea on loan, Sterling will sign for Rangers permanently as his contract is due to expire this summer. The 23-year-old will pen a four-year deal at Ibrox.

Meanwhile, imminent new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a setback as one of his main transfer targets will no longer be moving this summer.
