Exclusive: Colchester line up double deal

Colchester United are lining up deals for former Chelsea starlet Connor Hunte and non-league ace Ryan Gondoh, TEAMtalk understands.

Hunt, 20, is a free-agent after leaving Wolves last season, when his contract was mutually terminated.

Hunt begin his career with Chelsea and was tipped as start of the future, featuring for a number of England’s youth sides.

However, Hunt fell out with Chelsea and moved to Wolves in 2014 and made his first-team debut only last year, but again he did not see eye-to-eye with the management and left.

He is now looking to get his career back on track with Colchester, who he is set to spend a few days training with, ahead of agreeing a deal.

Colchester are also looking at 20-year-old Gondoh – a winger, who has progressed in non-league football in recent years.

The one-time Barnet scholar spent last season with Carshalton, but he was spotted by a number of league clubs, but has now agreed to join Colchester for pre-season, with a view to landing a deal.
