Sources: Dean Henderson left in limbo with Nott’m Forest ready to pull out of Man Utd deal after alternative target emerges

Man Utd goalkeeper Dean Henderson warms up before game at Old Trafford
TEAMtalk understands Manchester United are facing a huge potential headache as Nottingham Forest could pull out from a deal for Dean Henderson, with Keylor Navas once again emerging as an option for Steve Cooper’s side.
Henderson signed for Forest on loan from Man Utd last summer and soon established himself as first-choice goalkeeper at the City Ground. However, Forest bolstered their keeper ranks in the January transfer window with the loan signing of Navas from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
Navas, 36, was outstanding for Forest and played a huge role in them staying in the top flight while Henderson was out with a thigh injury.
Forest have held talks with Man Utd over a potential permanent deal for Henderson, which would have been worth around £20million. However, TEAMtalk has been told that transfer is under threat as Forest have learned Navas could be available instead.
The Costa Rica international has been linked with several clubs since returning to PSG, while also picking up interest from Saudi Arabia. But no offers have arrived and with PSG eager to move him on, TEAMtalk understands Forest could now attempt to bring him back to the East Midlands in what would be a hugely popular move among supporters.
Forest should not have to spend a huge fee to re-sign Navas due to his age and the fact he is in the final year of his PSG deal.
Sources have told TEAMtalk that if Forest did reunite with the veteran shot-stopper, a move for Henderson would be unlikely given the fact the Englishman wants regular game time when departing Old Trafford.
Henderson is far from the only Man Utd outcast whose future is yet to be decided. Harry Maguire is also on that list, having recently been stripped of the Man Utd captaincy. But according to an intriguing report, Erik ten Hag could now complete a big U-turn on the centre-back.
