EXCLUSIVE: Dortmund lead German rivals for exciting Brentford star

Marcus Forss

Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin are both looking at making a January move for Brentford striker Marcus Forss, TEAMtalk can reveal.

The outstanding young Finn has impressed hugely for the Bees, and has already hit six goals in 11 games this term. That’s despite Forss largely playing back-up to leading striker Ivan Toney.

The 21-year-old has just been called up to the Finland senior squad. He joined Brentford from West Brom in 2018 and has emerged as another huge attacking talent for the Bees.

In recent times, they have sold Neal Maupay, Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma for huge profits.

And it seems Forss could be the next to leave the Brentford Community Stadium.

We can now reveal there is strong interest emanating from Germany. Dortmund scouts have picked out Forss and want to sign him with the plan of loaning him before returning to the club.

Berlin have also highlighted Forss as a prime target and are keen to bring him to the capital. Berlin are currently flying high in the top-six and they believe Forss could have a huge future.

Brentford though see Forss’ future with them and have him tied down on a deal until summer 2023.

But the player has ambitions to play top-flight football and could have his head swayed by the interest.

Dortmund have frequently raided the English market for the best young prospects, with Jude Bellingham the most recent.
