EXCLUSIVE: Fulham return with improved offer for Southampton star

Fulham have returned to Southampton with an improved £12million offer for left-back Matt Targett, we can reveal.
Former England Under-21 ace Targett was hugely impressive for the Cottagers last season as he ended the season on-loan at Craven Cottage – helping them to promotion.
Fulham opened talks at the end of the season, but such was his form that Southampton decided they wanted to keep him and let another left-back Sam McQueen leave instead.
The west London club have looked elsewhere at the likes of Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ludwig Augustinsson of Werder Bremen – but those deals have proven complicated.
Now the Cottagers, who have already made a big impact in the summer transfer window landing the likes of Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri, are ready to splash more cash and Southampton are now listening after Fulham raised their offer.
