EXCLUSIVE: Hart boost as Burnley wait on Chelsea bid for top star

Burnley are ready to give Joe Hart the chance to become a Premier League No 1 again next season for one big reason, we can reveal.

The Clarets are expecting that current first-choice Nick Pope could be lured away this summer with Chelsea very keen on the 27-year-old, as they look for a replacement for Kepa.

And whilst Burnley are looking at other options, they are ready to give 32-year-old Hart the chance to resurrect his career.

Hart, who was linked with a move to join up with former Man City teammate Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht last summer, has not played a Premier League game since December 2018, but he remains convinced he can still perform at the highest level.

Chelsea are exploring a plethora of options as a replacement for Kepa and were on Sunday quoted a sky-high price for another wanted man; Udinese keeper Juan Mussa.

Meanwhile, Philippe Coutinho’s desperation for a return to England has reportedly sparked interest from four top Premier League sides.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are all said to have enquired about the Brazilian playmaker’s availability at the end of this season.

The 27-year-old admits that he should never have quit Anfield in January 2018, when he joined Barcelona in a ‘dream’ £142million move.

 

 

Coutinho has largely endured a nightmare in Catalonia, with his failure to make a significant impact seeing the Barca fans turn on him and often booing and jeering his underwhelming displays.
