EXCLUSIVE: Leeds back in pole position for Liverpool star after price drop

Leeds United are in pole position to land Liverpool’s Ryan Kent after they reduced their asking price to under £10m, we can reveal.

Kent, who was brilliant for Rangers during a loan spell last season, has had a host of clubs chasing him all summer.

Rangers wanted to take him back to Scotland but they could not finance a permanent deal – whilst there was also Premier League interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Burnley and Crystal Palace.

But he is now set to move to the Championship with Leeds set to seal his signature, beating rivals Middlesbrough and Derby to him.

Kent is set to cost £7.5million, and Leeds are able to finance a deal after selling Kemar Roofe to Anderlecht.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men had, earlier in the day, but linked with a move for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah as an alternative to Kent, but that move now looks unlikely if the Liverpool star heads to Elland Road instead.
