Manchester United coaches believe that young forward James Wilson could yet be their home-grown Harry Kane, we can reveal.
The 22-year-old is currently impressing on-loan at Aberdeen, which is just the latest temporary move having also spent time with Brighton, Derby and Sheffield United.
Indeed Wilson’s career path looks strikingly similar to that of Kane – who had less than inspiring spells with the likes of Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester before eventually making a huge name for himself under Mauricio Pochettino.
Wilson – who came through United under Sir Alex Ferguson – could yet get his chance to stake a claim back at Old Trafford come the end of the season.
A source said: “James Wilson is one who the coaches are following closely, they still see huge potential and are not ready to give-up on him.”
