EXCLUSIVE: Middlesbrough target exciting double raid on Scotland

Jordan Jones TEAMtalk

TEAMtalk understands Middlesbrough are considering raiding Scotland for a couple of players before the deadline closes on Friday, with Jordan Jones and Lyndon Dykes in their sights.

Rangers winger Jones is being eyed by a host of clubs, with Stoke, Blackburn and Swansea also keen, but Boro are looking at the prospect of bringing the player back to Teesside – as he began his career at The Riverside.

The 25-year-old Northern Ireland international joined Rangers from Kilmarnock in the summer but he is set to be allowed to leave Ibrox this month, initially on-loan, and Boro are keen.

Jonathan Woodgate is worried about the extent of the injury to recent signing Patrick Roberts and wants Jones as cover.

Boro though do have competition with Michael O’Neill and Tony Mowbray – both who have managed the player previously – very keen on taking him.

Boro are also continuing their pursuit of striker Dykes – Livingston’s Australian striker, who has impressed this season.

The 24-year-old has impressed in the Scottish top flight and a number of English clubs have taken an interest, but Boro are very keen and we understand they have watch him twice this month already.
