Exclusive: Newcastle looking to hit the Targett
Newcastle United are in talks with Southampton about signing England Under-21 international Matt Targett, TEAMtalk can reveal.
The Saints rate the 21-year-old very highly, but with Ryan Bertrand and Sam McQueen ahead of him in the pecking order they are willing to let him leave on-loan.
Targett, who signed a new five-year deal earlier this month, has had a number of clubs enquire about him but Newcastle are in pole position to land him.
Newcastle are now working hard to agree terms with Southampton to secure a deal.
