Nottingham Forest are close to wining the race for Albert Adomah, TEAMtalk can reveal.
Forest have made a move to land the Ghana international on a free transfer after he left Aston Villa last month.
The 31-year-old has a host of clubs looking to land him, with West Bromwich Albion also very keen to secure his signature after Villa decided not to offer him a new deal.
But Forest are now in pole position to seal his signature as they look to try and wrap up a deal in the next 24 hours.
The Nottingham Post reported that Forest had “declared a verbal interest” in Adomah last month, while Martin O’Neill was still at the helm.
The change in head coach though has not meant the club have abandoned their pursuit of the former Middlesbrough winger.
Adomah holds an impressive Championship record which has seen him score 61 goals and make 62 assists in 372 appearances.
Meanwhile, Forest have announced the arrival of goalkeeper Arijanet Muric on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
The 20-year-old Kosovo international featured in City’s run to the Carabao Cup final last season.
