Portsmouth have won the battle to land Queens Park Rangers winger David Wheeler, our sources have told us.

Rangers signed 27-year-old Wheeler from Exeter last summer, but his season was cut short in January by an ankle injury.

Now back to full fitness and a host of clubs were competing to take him with the likes of Plymouth, Coventry and Milton Keynes Dons all showing an interest.

TEAMtalk has now learned that Wheeler will be heading for Fratton Park and will link up with Kenny Jackett’s squad.
