Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard: Both left MLS

The FA have reportedly been in touch with Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard about potentially joining the England coaching set-up.

According to The Sun, the two midfielders have both been invited to begin their coaching badges during the MLS off-season and they could finish them in half the time it usually takes the pros to complete the course.

It generally takes four years to be qualified, but Gerrard and Lampard could have their badges by just two years as the FA have proposed a fast-track scheme so the pair can act as mentors to the young England side.

Interim boss Gareth Southgate is said to have given his backing to the plan, and it is now up to Gerrard and Lampard if they want to head down this path after retiring from their playing days.
