‘Antonio Conte will be gone at the end of the season’

One Man Utd fan has made a bold statement over the football played under Louis van Gaal, while Liverpool fans discuss the player who is the “trigger for the press”.

‘Football more entertaining under LvG than it is now’
Blacky – Like I said, forget about blaming his supply.
He did f**k all right last night in terms of showing any sort of pace, power, positioning, awareness, accuracy, movement, vision, strength, shooting, heading, link up play.
None of these are to do with his supply from the likes of Mata, Herrera, Lingard, etc.
Martial and Rashford were also feeding off the same scraps yet didn’t look anywhere near as bad as your mate Romelu.
So out of Mourinho’s signings only Matic has played well (for now) and Bailly and Pogba are starting to look half decent. Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Lindelof have been shite and Zlatan is here for one last paycheck so maybe Jose isn’t all he’s cracked up to be. Plus the football was probably more entertaining under LvG than it is right now which is hard to believe!
Manthistle
I think it’s very harsh, and wrong, to say Lukaku has been sh**e. I thought he had a fantastic start but has been poor since the last international break. Although nothing has been said publicly he looks like he’s carrying a knock. Either way he needs to find his form and fast but he’s got my support.
The football played under van Gaal in his second season was the worst I reckon I’ve ever watched in three decades following United. I’m not having that last line Manthistle, sorry.

Football was more entertaining under lvg? More like you just enjoyed watching your lover boy carrick. Before the season you were banging on about how bakayoko is a better signing, care to tell us how both are doing? 35 games unbeaten at OT under jose. Your agenda against jose will never away but at least wait until things do go bad

McTominay could be ‘massive’ for United
He’s being compared to Fletcher if he can reach his level before Fletcher’s mystery illness and eventual sale then he’ll be massive for Utd. Fletcher although isn’t mentioned in the same breath as that of Scholes, Keane or Carrick was absolutely destructive. Before his illness he bossed the midfield like no other, putting in countless interceptions and tackles and yet coming off the pitch without a yellow or a red card. Shame he couldn’t finish his career at Utd.
However, McTominay has a long hard road in front of him and he has plenty of role models to choose from. It’s commendable he continued to play on after a hefty collision so he’ll be a tough nut to crack in future. Would be a treat to see a home grown player develop into a squad or first team player.

Draw v City would be ‘amazing’
This is going to sound really defeatist, but for me a good result on Sunday would to not get spanked. A draw would be amazing, but if all else fails, a 1 or 2-1 loss would be great. I don’t think I could handle a 5-0, which sadly I could see happening if they get an early goal.
City are playing some of the best football on the continent at the moment, and we’re having to come back from behind almost every game.
When am I going to start feeling confident and enjoying being an Arsenal fan again?

Only Walcott and Wenger really know what has been said
Jeff, I am disappointed with Theo that he hasn’t looked to move on but that’s with hindsight.
Only he and Wenger really know what goes on behind the scenes and we’ve discussed this enough times for you to know my thoughts and me to know your thoughts. While I wouldn’t have agreed with you 12 months ago, I now just see a player that even Wenger seems to have given up on and going on his recent appearances, it kinda looks like Theo’s given up himself.
What I try to do is look at it from the player’s point of view and for the sake of this argument, if we take money out of the equation, I think if I’d been playing for one club for a decade and a top European club at that (let’s not forget he was a regular starter until recently too and getting regular international call-ups), I’m not sure I’d have been improving my career prospects by going elsewhere – even if I found someone to match or even better my salary.
Really, without knowing Theo personally, it’s hard to make a judgement call on whether he genuinely believes in himself and his manager, or is simply a mercenary.
Now, however, it would be hard to argue that his career is best served at Arsenal. He can no longer get into the first team and isn’t even guaranteed a place in the League Cup/Europa League team, so I would expect him to be looking for a move now and not sure when his next contract talks are due, but I will be disappointed with the player if he signs another extension.

Chelsea are a ‘joke’
Wow Spurs have just shown us up good and proper!!!!! And so too have City.
How we have become a joke-again!!!
Gibblue
We are not a joke, unless of course you are the type of fan who only settles for first place. Top level football is an intensely competitive arena. Whoever you are, it doesn’t always go your way.
As a life long Chelsea fan I’m always tuned in to the joy that can come from recovering from a shitty position. Enjoy the comeback is what I recommend.

‘Conte is gone at the end of the season’
Heres my take on it an i honestly think im right this time. I think conte is gone at the end of the season. Mutually. Weve already seen chelsea looking for new managers in the papers. Of coure we are as conte is leaving. The players will have obviously got hold of all of it and its a similar situation when pelligrini was leaving city.
Everyone knew. Players dropped thier levels. Bearly made 4th that season.
I think everythingg is a mess. Everything has been handled wrong and its only going to get worse

West Ham game is winnable
Our last game before the international break and one we can defo win.
West Ham are in a bit of a crisis at the min with Bilic future hanging by a thread.
They have a lot of defensive injuries at the min which should be music to our attackers ears.
Our defense needs to be on the ball too as they’ve struggled in the past against Hammers.
This weekend City play Arsenal and Chelsea play Utd. Someone’s gonna drop points ahead of us so this is a prime opportunity to play catch up.
There’s question marks over Lovren, Coutinho and Wijs fitness. Not sure I would start Wij anyway as he tends to go missing in these sort of away games.
Will have to wait for Klopps presser to see who’s available. Firmino and Salah are defo starters for this game for me. Hendo and Can very likely too.
Our defensive away record is terrible and needs sorted. First goal will be vitally important in this game and we can’t afford to gift them anything but still think we can win this.

Lovren abusers need a lifetime ban
Yeah a good time to face the hammers.
I got to say about Lovren, I’m disgusted by the antics of a few fan. It’s one thing having a go at a player out of form but another to send him death threats to his family.
I hope the fans responsible will get a lifetime ban at Anfield.

‘Salah like our version of Silva’
Good professional result with many players representative of the b team. Looking forward to having Mane, Couts and lallana back. What a player Salah is he is like our version of David Silva. Always in the thick of it, and deadly when he is in ghost mode too as he always seems to sneak in at the right place at the right time.
Can’t really praise the defenders too much as they had nothing to do. 3 points from next two games should see us through although 2 points might be good enough as well.

Liverpool have won against defensive teams
West Ham need a result. It’s going to be a tough game but a game we have to win. We need to get a run together now. They will target us from set plays etc.
The good thing is, in the last two games we have played teams that had ten men behind the bell and we beat them well
Sean the sailor
West Ham will park the bus
Sean your right mate we have beat teams that park the proverbial but the key has been the 1st goal. I’m sure I wasn’t alone in thinking it was going to be another of those games we totally dominate but don’t get the result.
It was the same last weekend, once we got the goal we were right & put on the same score line. That 1st goal is so important to us every time we play as teams can’t just sit back all game if we score.
The hammers will park it I have no doubt about that & they will be physical in the middle & aim for set pieces.
As has been mentioned though they are going terrible & we should be able to get the biscuits.

Lallana is the ‘trigger for the press’
Your right Razor about Lallana flying for the start of the season then tailing off.
But the context to that is we sustained injuries to Coutinho then lost Mane and Lallana was asked to play wide left and right of the front 3 out of the position he had been doing so well in as an attacking midfielder. It’s part of the reason why there was such a clamour for an additional wide player to come in.
Lallana seems to be the trigger for the press too. He pushes on the centreback/midfielder and the others side follow on the other players.
Be interesting to see how Klopp encorporates both Coutinho and Lallana. Have both in midfield at home may be fine but not sure if that would work away from home as well. Always good to have quality players coming off the bench though.

Lallana ‘does it better than any other player’
Ginger – I agree with you about Lallana being the trigger for the press he does it better than any other player, and wins the ball in the opposition final third more than anyone else, as far as formation I think it would be horses for courses, we will obviously rotate especially with CL football, but first choice for tough games,
Migs
Clyne – Matip – Lovren – Moreno
Henderson – Can – Lallana
Salah – Firmino – Mane
Easier games
Migs
Clyne – Matip – Lovren – Moreno
Lallana – Henderson – Coutinho
Salah – Firmino – Mane
Rotating TAA and Robertson at FB, Milner, Gigi CM
Lallana and Coutinho, between each other and filling in for either Salah or Mane
Sturridge or Solanke for Firmino

Super Spurs
“Super Spurs” is what they called the early Sixties teams. Yesterday’s team performance earned the right to wear that Moniker once again -with pride too. Liverpool were well and truly put to the sword along with some of the questions that built up when we moved out of White Hart Lane: Can Wembley ever be our home?- Yes it can. Can Spurs overcome the current Liverpool “hoodoo”-
Yes, emphatically. Can Kane score at Wembley? – Yes not once but twice- in the same game too. Do Spurs have the strength in depth to challenge for the major honour and does Pochettino have the nous in tactics/team selection to take on any team- emphatically yes to both questions. Are Spurs a one-man team?- give me a break;that was a super team performance.
Finally, is there any one who doubts that Harry Kane is world class? I really don’t think so. I don’t know what you boys feel, but I think we have got back the “Super Spurs”.
