Theo Walcott: False dawn?

Arsene Wenger has revealed Theo Walcott missed Arsenal’s Champions League opener with Paris St Germain with a knee injury.

Eyebrows were raised when Walcott was left out of the squad to travel to the Parc des Princes, with the attacker having started Arsenal’s opening four Premier League fixtures.

However Wenger has revealed the England international was not fit to travel, although questions remain about the rest of his team selection.

“He has a knee problem,” the Arsenal manager said.

“I think it’s very short term but he’s not completely fit so I left him at home.

“Basically its 90 percent of the squad who played on Saturday who play tonight.”
