First man out at Man Utd this summer will sign for Arsenal

Arsenal are lining up a summer move for unwanted Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly, claims a report.

The former Villarreal defender has not been seen in the red of United since the 3-1 away win over PSG last month. He played on the right that night, but was injured and subbed after half an hour and he hasn’t featured since.

And now Arsenal are set to revive their interest in the 25-year-old, according to The Sun. Arsenal were keen on signing the Ivory Coast man in January and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the Gunners had made an approach for the £30million signing.

United though knocked back the interest, ironically ahead of of an FA Cup fourth-round clash between the two sides.

“I’m not surprised if they do (want him) to put it that way,” Solskjaer said in January.

Unai Emery though will go back in for Bailly and will “start negotiations at £20million”.

The tabloid seem pretty confident a deal is in the offing with Bailly ready to end his three-year stay at Old Trafford and Solskjaer will be more than happy to sanction a move for the player, who he has never really fancied at United.

Bailly has only made two Premier League starts under Solskjaer since he arrived at Old Trafford in December and the Norwegian is believed to be looking at other options and will let the player move on.

However, earlier this month the same paper claimed Bailly had emerged as a shock transfer target for Real Madrid.

Arsenal boss Emery has been an admirer of Bailly from his time facing him in La Liga while in charge of Sevilla and with Shkodran Mustafi under fire Emery is looking to add another defender to his squad this summer.
