Quique Sanchez Flores: Manager unconcerned by form

Quique Sanchez Flores says Watford players need to focus on their “amazing” achievements rather than become worried by their recent form.

Following the 1-0 defeat at Swansea City on Monday, Watford have now suffered four straight league defeats and failed to win in five league matches.

The Hornets only came to life in the second half but were unable to cancel out Ashley Williams’ 27th-minute header.

At least manager Flores had the consolation of signing Morocco winger Nordin Amrabat from Malaga on a three-and-a-half-year deal before kick-off.

“It shows that players are happy coming to Watford,” he said.

“But I am not a coach who comes to press conferences talking about players that I want to sign. I am happy with the players I have got because what they have done is completely amazing.

“When we had four wins in a row we were humble – and this is football. This is the Premier League. We have just come up and have lots reasons to be happy.

“I don’t like to lose but we need to accept the results – and we have enough points to be positive.”

Watford are 12th in the Premier League, eight points above the relegation zone.
