Quique Sanchez Flores insists he is “very happy” despite Watford’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at Vicarage Road.
The Hornets looked to be heading to another impressive victory after going ahead through Aleksandar Kolarov’s own goal, before classy finishes in the final 10 minutes from Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero snatched victory for City.
Despite the disappointment of defeat, he insisted he remained proud of his players’ performance.
“It’s difficult to dominate Manchester City like this,” the Spaniard said. “Against big teams it’s difficult to control the attack, the ball, to control the tempo, but we did it.
“We were able to control the spaces, to stop the good players, we played really well with the ball. It’s very similar to the last game against Tottenham.
“I’m very happy. It’s impossible to explain how we lose this match. I try to take the good and positives we have for this team.
“I’m so sorry, so sorry, the players were amazing, so sorry for the fans. We want to win, for us it’s not enough to be in the middle of the Premier League, we have a lot of reasons to be happy, but we are sad because we want a lot more.
“(City) have an amazing team, they have amazing players. They have the possibility in two minutes to change the dynamic of the match.”
