Callum Hudson-Odoi could move to Nott'm Forest

Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to striking a deadline-day double deal to sign Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and Nuno Tavares from Arsenal.

Forest have been pursuing both players over the summer and deals have now been agreed for the winger and the left-back, with the former travelling up to Nottingham on Friday.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Tavares is set to move to the City Ground on loan from the Gunners for a loan fee of just £1m and a buy option of £12million, plus £3m in add-ons.

Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, is set to sign a permanent deal with Steve Cooper’s men for what could be a bargain fee of around 8m.

Fulham have shown interest in the England international throughout the summer, but it appears that Forest have now got their man.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen but largely struggled, making only 21 appearances and scoring just once.

The arrival of Hudson-Odoi appears to suggest that Forest are clearing a path for Brennan Johnson to complete his proposed switch to Tottenham.

The Wales international is being strongly tipped to complete a move to north London, despite the two clubs being far apart in their valuation of the attacker.

Forest want £50m for the talented wide man but there will likely need to be a compromise for the transfer to go through.

Tavares set for Forest loan switch

As for Tavares, the full-back was also out on loan last season, spending the campaign at Marseille in Ligue 1 and scoring an impressive six goals in 39 appearances across all competitions from his defensive role.

The 23-year-old remains under contract at Arsenal until 2025 and will complete another short-term deal.

Forest also completed the signing of Murillo from Corinthians late on Thursday night, with the defender inking a five-year deal at the City Ground.

The 21-year-old, speaking to the club’s official website, said: “I am very excited to join Nottingham Forest. It is a big club with a huge fanbase and I cannot wait to start playing at The City Ground.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world, so I can’t wait to test myself and give my all for this club.”
