Luis Suarez is reportedly planning for life after Barcelona after it was claimed the Uruguayan striker has already picked his next destination.
Despite showing little signs of his goalscoring prowess slowing up – the former Liverpool has registered eight goals in 13 appearances so far this season for Barca – the LaLiga giants are giving strong thoughts to bringing in a successor, and cashing in on Suarez while he still retains some market value.
As such, Calciomercato claims Suarez has set his sights on a move to MLS, with LA Galaxy and New York City FC both said to have shown an initial interest in signing the 32-year-old. However, the Italian outlet claims Suarez is most likely to be swayed by a move to new franchise Inter Miami, which is due to enter the competition in 2020.
Suarez is contracted to Barca until 2021 but with the club turning their thoughts to a long-term successor, they know the player could still command a sizeable transfer fee if they let him leave at the end of the season.
The striker has won a total of 13 trophies since he moved to the Nou Camp from Liverpool in a £65m deal in summer 2014 and has gone on to score an impressive 185 goals in 260 appearances for the club – putting him fourth on their list of all-time top goalscorers.
But it seems a move away could be on the cards this summer, and a move to America looks next on the agenda for the free-scoring, and often controversial, Uruguayan.
