Former Man Utd star left ‘gutted’ that return to club fell through

Defender Patrice Evra was reportedly left gutted when Jose Mourinho chose not to sign him last year.
Evra joined Manchester United from Monaco 12 years ago, with the Frenchman winning an impressive five Premier League titles at Old Trafford.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Mourinho did consider bringing Evra back to Manchester when he was determined to sign an upgrade on Luke Shaw.
However, the Red Devils eventually decided against making a move for Evra, who has played for Marseille, Juventus and West Ham since leaving United, but is currently a free agent.
The report goes on to state that the 37-year-old was “gutted” when he found out his dreams of a return to the club would not be realised.
