Gary Neville says this summer is the perfect opportunity for Manchester United to go big with their recruitment in a bid to turn them into title contenders again.
United have bounced into form with the restart of the Premier League and with Bruno Fernandes pulling the strings they are starting to look like a team to fear.
Fernandes has been sensational since his arrival from Sporting in January for £49.5m with six goals and four assists, including a brace on Tuesday which helped see off Brighton.
But not only has the Portuguese had an impact on results he has also helped inspire his team-mates, especially Paul Pogba who has returned to action a different player to the one that was struggling before Christmas.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted with United’s latest display and claimed: “It was full of confidence and full of quality as well. I think the boys played some exceptional stuff, it’s always hard to play against Brighton.
“We kept the ball well, we pressed well and I think we started really well. It was just [about] waiting for that moment to get a goal and Mason’s first was brilliant.”
And Neville was just as happy with the performance at the Amex and admitted that now United have a team to be proud of again, whilst co-commentating.
Neville highlighted that Solskjaer now has a team that can play more than one way.
They used to rely on counter-attacking teams on the break, but now Neville says they have the ability to roll teams over who have a low block.
The Sky Sports pundit now wants the board to continue the club’s momentum by seizing the moment in the transfer market and sign those “three or four players” they need to become title contenders.

‘Now is the time to go for it’
He said on Instagram: “There’s no doubt that a year ago there was a massive worry about the club’s direction, where it was going, the recruitment.
“There’s a huge improvement, the club has been sanitised from a point of view of players who just come in for money.
“When you look at the players out on the pitch, there’s a mixture of ones who weren’t working who are now working because they’re surrounded by better players.
“Young players who are desperate to play for the club and some players who have got great ability, who have realigned their commitment over this last few months and are certainly in a lot better frame of mind.
“However, now is the time to go for it, get those three of four players in are needed close the gap now when the rest are maybe not investing and get closer to that title.”
