Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has added to speculation that Thomas Tuchel is set to become the new Arsenal manager.
Reports from German outlet Kicker on Sunday stated that Tuchel had agreed to become the new Gunners boss from next season.
The 44-year-old has even reportedly rejected an approach from Bayern Munich in order to take the reigns at the Emirates Stadium.
Now, former Inter Milan star Matthaus has added fuel to the fire, by insisting that he has been in touch with the North London club.
“You know, I’m a journalist too. I work for Sky, we have to make headlines every day,” he told Omnisport.
“Speak speculation, always, but I think Thomas Tuchel can be the favourite, ex-coach from Borussia Dortmund, but I know he’s the same in touch with Arsenal.
“Who knows what happens behind the doors.”
