Gers see off Saints to reach final

This was the fifth domestic cup meeting between the two sides in six years and Rangers came out on top again after winning three of those previous clashes.

Midfielder Davis set the ball rolling at Hampden when he was teed up by Nacho Novo rifling high into the empty net at the back post in the 26th minute.

Rangers then doubled their advantage with 38 minutes on the clock.

Steven Whittaker played a pass back to Lee McCulloch and the midfielder unleashed a ferocious shot from just outside the box which took a slight deflection on it’s way into the back of the net.

The victory sees Rangers meet St Mirren in the final at Hampden Park.
