Antoine Griezmann TEAMtalk

Antoine Griezmann has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a Barcelona exit and revealed he has the backing of Ronald Koeman.

The France forward did not have the best of season’s after his big-money move from Atletico Madrid last summer.

He hit nine goals in LaLiga, but he struggled to make an impact at the Camp Nou and with the price tag of £107m hanging over his head speculation began to emerge.

Talk about the 29-year-old’s future mounted after the 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid. Then boss Quique Setien only brought the forward on with a minute to go against his former side, despite the match level at 2-2.

However, according to L’Equipe, Barcelona “swept away” any doubts over his future in talks on Tuesday.

And now, despite the Daily Mail reporting that Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all on red alert for the forward, he has dispelled any exit rumours.

Last season was ‘tough’

Asked in an interview by M6 via Marca if his future lies at Barcelona, he said: “Yes.

“I don’t know why people are making up other destinations.

“I’m happy at Barcelona and I know I have the confidence of the club and of the coach.

“So, I’m good.

“Last season was a tough season for everyone and now we’re ready to start again.”

Griezmann has been on international duty with France, while his team-mates Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho were integrated back to group training on Wednesday.

The former Atletico star played the full 90 minutes in the win over Sweden, before scoring in the 4-2 win over Croatia on Tuesday night.
