Inter Milan will resist all January offers from Manchester City for Milan Skriniar, according to a report.
The Daily Express reported on Sunday that Pep Guardiola is looking to sign a replacement for the injured Aymeric Laporte and Skriniar is at the top of his list.
Guardiola’s side now have only one fit recognised centre-back in Nicolas Otamendi, after Aymeric Laporte joined John Stones on the sidelines following a knee injury.
Skriniar, 24, has been one of the outstanding defenders in Serie A over the last 18 months and is understood to have been on Manchester United’s radar before he penned a new deal in the summer.
The Slovakia star is now under contract in Milan until 2023 and Tuttosport say City will face a struggle to get him away from Antonio Conte’s side.
The Italian outlet suggest that the player “is considered non-transferable” especially during the season and claims Inter will resist all bids for the player in January.
Conte is intent on keeping his three defenders Stefan de Vrij, Diego Godin and Skriniar together.
That will mean Guardiola will have to look at alternative targets with Calciomercato.it last week reporting that Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, and AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli are already on his radar.
