Guidetti censured by SFA

The on-loan Manchester City star used the word after he was asked to repeat a song Celtic fans sing about him which includes a line about the demise of oldco Rangers, who were consigned to liquidation in the summer of 2012.

The governing body in Scotland deemed it offensive and found him in breach of Disciplinary Rule 73 ‘in that on or around 6th March 2015 you did in the course of a interview given to the Dutch Television Programme FC Rijnmond, make comment of an offensive nature’.

Following a delayed appearance at the SFA’s Hampden Park HQ, the 23-year-old was ‘found in breach and censured’.

Last month Celtic backed the player saying in a statement: “We are very surprised and disappointed that this has
even found its way to an SFA judicial panel. John Guidetti will be defending his charge.”
