Francesco Guidolin: Manager encouraged by draw

Francesco Guidolin remains upbeat about Swansea’s survival prospects, despite seeing his side concede a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw at West Brom.

Gylfi Sigurdsson appeared to have secured all three points for the Swans with a second half goal, before Solomon Rondon snatched a point for the Baggies in the 92nd minute.

“It is disappointing, so late, but this is football,” said Guidolin.

“But I am optimistic as I saw my team play well. We lose two points but West Brom is a good team, a strong team, and this is a difficult stadium (to come to). I am optimistic because my team played well for 93 minutes – all the match.

“Our team is good but the table is not good and we need to improve. Football is dangerous and Saturday is another difficult match, the first at home for me and I hope to see my team win.”
