Happy days are here again
Pilgrims reward away support
I think this is the happiest I have been feeling for years whilst writing this blog after Argyle won 4-0 at the weekend! Yes I didn’t believe my eyes either on Saturday it was 4-0 that we beat Accrington Stanley away from home.
Argyle’s form hasn’t been great in the last three years but our away form has been slightly better than our home form I think, although will need to go back over our results to prove that for sure. I attend nearly every home game for Argyle every season and have been to many games when the away team have only come down with one bus load of fans but Argyle have some of the most amazing away support in the league I think. We regularly take anything from 500-1500 fans and I was so glad that their support was rewarded on Saturday with such a great away day.
We are now up to the dizzy heights of 21st in the table, we are so high I think I am getting dizzy. Despite this lofty position we are still equal on points with second from bottom Northampton so this isn’t the time for relaxing just yet. The results this weekend I feel have made it a case of two out of the bottom seven not being safe.
horrendous
I think from Wimbledon upwards they will all be safe but one team that seems to be on a horrendous run is Macclesfield who are just above us so they are our next target to get above. As it always works out in the league we have two six pointers in a row now.
If we can win against fellow relegation candidates Dagenham & Redbridge and Macclesfield Town we should be well on the way to survival, lose them and we are back in a relegation fight. The one thing that doesn’t help is that the bottom two teams have a game in hand on us so it could all change again very quickly.
An important piece of business Argyle need to do is to extend Alex Macdonald’s loan deal. Alex scored twice at the weekend and it is goal scorers we desperately need in our current plight. At the moment his loan runs out on March 6th but I think we need to secure his services until the end of the season if we are serious about staying in the league.
I just hope I am this happy when I write my next blog!
