Harry Kane has been told that a move to Manchester United would benefit his game, rather than a switch to rivals Manchester City.

Kane’s future is under the spotlight after a turbulent season under Jose Mourinho. While Spurs could yet end their trophy drought in the Carabao Cup, they face a fight to finish in the top four. They also suffered a woeful Europa League exit, which Kane described as embarrassing.

Tottenham’s fears over Kane have been exasperated after the striker admitted he will review his future at the end of the season.

Furthermore, Roy Keane has rung an alarming warning for Spurs over the striker’s future.

Any exit would likely set his suitors back at least £120m, with both Man City and Man Utd linked.

But when considering who to sign for, pundit Troy Deeney has no doubt that he should opt for the Red Devils.

“For me, he’s one of the best around and best in the business,” Deeney said on talkSPORT.

“Also the assists now make him more attractive to say a Man City as he can link the play as well.

“If he went to Man City, would that suit his game? Probably not. I think Man United suits him well, but it’s going to cost a lot of money.”

Kane recently spoke of his admiration for Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski. Like Kane, he’s enjoyed a prolific career, but it wasn’t until he joined Bayern that he was able to become a serial winner.

Kane told he needs trophies

Deeney now feels Kane needs to win something before he can be considered one of the greats.

That may seem harsh given his scoring record. However, Deeney insisted it’s trophies is what will count come the end of his career.

He added: “His record is ridiculous, but the way you have to look at it now – what’s his motivation?

“It won’t be financial, as he’s doing alright anyway. Do you want to win trophies?

“If you’re picking your top five strikers in Premier League history, does he go in that without winning anything?”
