Tottenham have provided updates on four of their injured stars ahead of the FA Cup fourth-round clash at Southampton on Saturday.
Spurs have been boosted by seeing skipper Hugo Lloris back in the team for the 2-1 victory against Norwich on Wednesday night.
Midfielder Tanguy Ndombele was also back in training and lined up on the bench against the Canaries, although he did not get involved in the action.
One player who did pick up an injury in a much-needed win for Jose Mourinho’s men was Harry Winks, who forced off with an ankle problem during the game.
Mourinho later said he believed the injury was more about weeks out rather than months, despite the England star needing to be helped, limping off the pitch.
Now Spurs have revealed that Winks’ ankle is being assessed ahead of this weekend’s match against the in-form Saints, indicating it is better than first feared.
But Harry Kane, Ben Davies and Moussa Sissoko all remain in the treatment room continuing their rehabilitation.
Davies is the closest of the trio to returning, while Kane (hamstring) and Sissoko (knee) are both expected back in April.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s move to sign Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose has reportedly stalled over a difference of opinion on the transfer fee.
The two clubs are locked in talks over a possible deal for the Brazilian, but they are currently £11m apart in their valuation of the striker – with Spurs having offered roughly half of what the La Liga side want, according to the Daily Star. Read more…
