EXCLUSIVE: Hastings star snubs Leicester to sign for Stevenage

Brendan Rodgers Leicester v Watford

Hastings star Jamie Fielding has turned his back on possible move to the Premier League and agreed a deal with League Two Stevenage.

TEAMtalk revealed how Fielding had been tracked by a host of top-flight and Championship sides, and he trained with Leicester at the end of the season.

Leicester were keen to take on the 19-year-old central defender, who can also play in midfield, but that would have meant him joining their youth set-up.

But Fielding, who according to the Hastings website is a cultured defender and a leader on the pitch, has decided to make the move into the Football League, where he will hope to secure first-team football from next season with Stevenage.

The League Two outfit finished the season strongly under Tunisian boss Dino Maamria to finish 10th.
