Eden Hazard: Limps off against Leicester

Reports in the Belgium media claim Eden Hazard faked his hip injury against Leicester in an attempt to ‘boycott’ Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Hazard was substituted after barely half an hour of Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Monday, with the Belgian sustaining a hip injury after a heavy tackle from Jamie Vardy.

The winger re-entered the field of play but left again soon after, and was replaced by Pedro at the King Power Stadium.

With a hint of sarcasm, Mourinho branded Hazard’s injury as “serious” in his post-match, and now newspaper reports in the 24-year-old’s native Belgium have questioned the winger.

Hazard will undergo a scan on the hip injury in order to ascertain its severity, but it is thought he will be fit to face Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
