Eden Hazard is putting the finishing touches on his €150million (£130m) move to Real Madrid from Chelsea after undergoing his medical in the Spanish capital.
The Belgium forward, 28, was announced as a major summer signing for Madrid last Friday and will be unveiled at Real’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Thursday evening.
Real confirmed Hazard had undergone his medical at Madrid’s La Moraleja University Hospital in a tweet published shortly before 7pm local time (1800BST), when the player is now expected to sign his five-year contract and appear on the Bernabeu pitch in front of thousands of fans ahead of a press conference.
Sitting alongside Real president Florentino Perez, Hazard put pen to paper on his contract before moving to the trophy room to pose with the famous white shirt ahead of a presentation ceremony.
After being introduced by Perez, Hazard said: “I want to win many titles with Real Madrid, in this shirt. This has been my dream since I was a child and now I’m here. I just want to enjoy this moment.”
