Cooper delighted as Nottingham Forest beat Liverpool to superb midfielder; two incomings to follow

Nottingham Forest-bound PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare
Nottingham Forest are set to sign highly-rated PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, who has also been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.
The Reds ultimately opted to sign Ryan Gravenberch instead but considered the PSV star as an alternative to Moises Caicedo, who joined Chelsea.
Sangare has put in some excellent performances in the Eredivisie over the last couple of seasons, attracting the interest of several European clubs.
The Ivory Coast international signed for PSV in 2020. He has since made 140 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and making 10 assists.
Sangare generally plays as a defensive midfielder or can play further forward, too. The 25-year-old will provide competition for Nottingham Forest’s existing midfield options, and will most likely slot straight into Steve Cooper’s starting XI. T
The manager will hope that Sangare will help the Tricky Trees avoid relegation again this season.
Romano: Forest set to sign Sangare
According to reputed transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have won the race for Sangare’s signature.
On Twitter, Romano wrote: “Ibrahim Sangare to Nottingham Forest, here we go! Agreement in place with PSV on €35m package deal, including add-ons.
“Sangare will travel later after deal in place as reported. Personal terms also agreed.”
“Vlachodimos on his way, Hudson Odoi completes medical.”
Sangare could definitely prove to be an excellent signing for Nottingham Forest. He will become their ninth new signing of the window (including loans), but their business isn’t done yet.
As suggested by Romano, Callum Hudson-Odoi is also on the verge of making a switch to the City Ground. The fee agreed is believed to be in the region of £8m.
Nottingham Forest are also set to sign Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos. He will provide competition for fellow new signing Alex Turner, who arrived from Arsenal earlier in the window.
Barring any late twists, it seems that Cooper will have at least three new players through the door before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
