Heroes and Zeros: Mahrez steals the show, Arsenal dominant
Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez once again topped the charts for the highest rated player of the weekend, while dominant Arsenal were also praised, but Connor Wickham and Jordan Ayew were among this week’s statistical strugglers of the week.
Mahrez was in blistering form as his hat-trick put Swansea to the sword 3-0 at the weekend and Leicester’s rise to the top of the table – coupled with surprise defeats for Manchester City and Tottenham – was the subject of our Monday Verdict.
The Algerian forward, who scored a perfect 10, was marginally better than a couple more foreign imports, with Xherdan Shaqiri and Marko Arnatauvic’s figures underlining our opinion piece on how Stoke have added style to their substance this season.
Leicester may top the Premier League table, but it is West Ham, who remain on top of our Power Rankings after their remarkable form away from home this season saw them hold goal-shy Manchester United to 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
Here, WhoScored.com look at the players that played the biggest roles for their teams over the weekend – and those that were more of a hindrance than a help…
