Higuain drops hint after being questioned on €60m Chelsea links

Gonzalo Higuain has dropped a huge hint about playing in the Premier League in the future, as rumours of a move to Chelsea start to gather pace.

The Juventus striker has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge – potentially as part of a swap deal with Alvaro Morata.

And Higuain gave the Blues a boost by admitting to TNT Sport of his admiration for the English top flight.

“Would I like to play in the Premier League one day? Of course, yes, it is the best league in the world and it fascinates me a lot,” he said.

Juventus are reportedly prepared to cash in on the 30-year-old this summer despite a 23-goal season, and are well aware his market value will drop with age.

However, the former Real Madrid and Napoli striker insisted he wasn’t aware of any concrete offers for him yet from the Blues.

“I have a contract with Juventus and no one has told me anything different. I am very calm, my soul stays in Turin for now,” he continued.

Chelsea are eager to bring in a new striker after Morata’s inconsistent first season in London, with Higuain and Inter’s Mauro Icardi top of their wish-list.

On Tuesday it was confirmed by Inter’s youth sector chief that the club would listen to offers for €110m-rated Icardi.
