Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is reportedly facing internal pressure to publicise his desire to stay at the club, amid negotiations with Manchester United.

After months of speculation about the 20-year-old’s future, talks between the two sides ramped up last week. United and Sancho agreed on personal terms of a reported five-year deal.

Despite that, negotiations have since slowed. United have blamed the deal broker hired by Dortmund, while the German club feel the Red Devils have no basis for such claims.

As for Sancho, he has since broken his silence on the speculation. He told club media that he “loves” playing at Dortmund and wants to guide Dortmund’s youth players.

According to The Times, Dortmund want the England international to firm up those comments. The Bundesliga giants want Sancho to take part in a spoken interview either via his club or on social media.

However, the major sticking point would be getting Sancho to agree. The forward rarely takes part in interviews, with comments from senior Dortmund staff only adding limited weight to the situation.

Such comments have come from Dortmund’s sporting director, with Michael Zorc insisting his confidence on Monday that Sancho would be staying at the club.

Zorc explained that the decision to extend the winger’s contract last summer protected his value, with the German club now able to command their £108million asking price.

However, without a more official word from Sancho than his latest comments, the newspaper says Dortmund have not buried the chances of a deal.

The winger recently finished his best season in front of goal, scoring 20 goals and assisting 20 others.

Ferdinand has said that bringing Sancho to Old Trafford would set his side up for years of success.
