Ian Wright names one star Man Utd must break bank to sign with dream trio to spearhead 2024 title glory

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been advised of the one signing he needs to make if the Red Devils are to maximise their chances of dethroning Manchester City as Premier League champions next season.

The Red Devils have made rapid strides since Ten Hag took the reins last summer. Indeed, they are currently third in the Premier League after an excellent run of form and now sit just five points behind table-topping Arsenal.

United, despite their excellent run of form, are probably only third favourites at this stage to win the title this season. However, the club are geared up for an excellent end to the season, with Ten Hag’s side still very much alive in four competitions.

And the club can end their six-year trophy drought this weekend when they tackle Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final.

Manchester United will also hope to go deep in the Europa League. Next up, they face Barcelona in the second leg at Old Trafford after a 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp.

They also still have FA Cup hopes too. And next Wednesday they host West Ham at Old Trafford for a place in the quarter-finals.

As such, hopes burn bright at just how incredible United’s first season under Ten Hag might be.

And while the Premier League title will most probably elude them – that was never a realistic aim this season anyway – the club have been told that a push for a first league title since 2013 is on the cards next season.

Ian Wright urges Man Utd to spend big on Harry Kane

However, in order to maximise their chances, former Arsenal striker Ian Wright insists they need one major signing to tip the scales in their favour.

And he is urging Ten Hag to break the bank to prise Harry Kane away from Tottenham and give United a leg-up over their rivals in the title race.

“[Manchester United] are a Harry Kane away from really kicking on [next season],” he told The Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“When you look at Wout Weghorst… Yes I’ve been surprised with him coming off the No 9 [role] to No 10 and making things happen…

“But if that’s the plan then Harry Kane is the perfect person to do that.”

Naming the trio of attackers who can steer United to glory next season, Wright suggested his dream triumverate.

“Marcus Rashford in that form, Alejandro Garnacho with his pace…

Then, if Antony kicks on… Everything they’ve already got going forward with a proper No 9, Man United will be back!

“You just feel Man United are not a million miles away [from winning Premier League titles] again.”

Man Utd may prefer Osimhen to Kane

Despite frequent links with Manchester United, Kane appears ready to commit to a new Tottenham deal.

His current arrangement expires in summer 2024 and talks over an extension are likely to commence soon. However, Kane himself has strongly suggested he is ready to commit to the north London side.

And with Daniel Levy a ferocious negotiator, it would surely take something pretty spectacular to lure Kane north to Manchester.

As a result, United are seemingly ready to pursue a deal for Victor Osimhen instead this summer.

The Nigerian boasts an incredible record for Napoli this summer with 19 goals in 23 appearances so far. And while Napoli rate him in the £106.7m (€120m) bracket, there’s a feeling a deal is there to be done.

As such, one observer has explained in Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk why he thinks a deal is a strong possibility.

Furthermore, the report claims the United manager is also looking to snare a former Liverpool target too.
