Ideal formula revealed as Arsenal hover for versatile PSG defender

Thilo Kehrer, Hassane Kamara TEAMtalk

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer, who is growing unsettled in the French capital.

Able to play as a right-back or centre-back, Kehrer could provide cover for Arsenal in two positions of need. The departure of David Luiz has left a space in the middle to fill, while full-back Hector Bellerin has been tipped to leave. Therefore, the Gunners need more cover.

Kehrer was first mentioned as a possible target for them back in May. Now, such links have resurfaced. According to Foot Mercato, the German international could consider his future as Arsenal watch on.

At present, he is happy to stay and fight for his place at the Parc Des Princes. However, the signings of Sergio Ramos at centre-back and Achraf Hakimi at right-back have added competition for his place. Given that he was never a guaranteed starter, he has been pushed further down the pecking order.

Therefore, as the summer progresses, he may have a decision to make. The French report claims that Arsenal have been monitoring the situation and could make a move.

Transfer Chatter - Liverpool want Adama, Tottenham in for Bundesliga defender and Gabriel Jesus to Turin?

Liverpool are in for Wolves' Adama Traore. Tottenham enquire for exciting Bundesliga centre-back and Gabriel Jesus could be heading to Italy to link up with former teammate, with more rumours all in the latest transfer chatter.

Rather than signing him permanently, a loan may be the most feasible solution. There are two years left on his contract in Paris, so he could leave for one year and see if he has a future left afterwards.

Arsenal would hope to benefit in the meantime, as the 24-year-old would help bolster a squad that missed out on European qualification last season.

Only time will tell if they make a move.

Bellerin asks for exit

Arsenal’s need for a defender will only increase if the long-serving Bellerin leaves this summer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Spanish full-back is said to have ‘showed up at the Arsenal headquarters and asked to leave’.

The 26-year-old has been on Arsenal’s books since 2011 but looks increasingly likely to leave.

PSG and Barcelona were often touted as potential landing spots. But Inter Milan now appears the likeliest destination.

Bellerin is understood to be open to leaving North London. Because of Inter’s financial situation, a loan approach is likely.
