Chelsea new boy Antonio Rudiger has risked incurring the wrath of Blues fans even before he has officially signed for the club.
Germany centre-back Rudiger is on the verge of joining Antonio Conte after the Blues beat off a late move from Manchester City.
According to widespread reports the Roma defender will sign a five-year contract in west London, having reportedly undergone a medical while on holiday in the United States.
The fee is believed to total £36million as Conte brings in a replacement for the departed John Terry, but with the deal yet to be ratified the 24-year-old has said some things which are likely to go down like a lead balloon on the King’s Road.
In quotes attributed to Rudiger, Football.London claim Chelsea’s new defensive kingpin is an Arsenal fan.
“I have been following Arsenal since the days of Henry and Bergkamp,” he said.
“I have always dreamed of the Premier League. I watch videos of Arsenal all the time on YouTube and I often wear the current Alexis Sanchez shirt.
“My heart beats for Arsenal.”
