In-form Cleverley back in the England fold

Tom Cleverley: Not wanted by Eveton

Roy Hodgson has invited Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley to the England get-together on Thursday.

Cleverley, 26, has had a renaissance recently and has been asked by Hodgson to join the England squad at St George’s Park.

It’s three years since the former Manchester United man received international recognition, in a game against Germany in 2013.

“Tom has been in Roy Hodgson’s thoughts for a long long time,” said Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

“Before he signed Tom was part of the England set up and has real good experience in that group. I think it is a good idea that the England camp get together and they can review what they have done and prepare and have a bit of a vision going forward “From our point of view it shows the strength that we have in that group and going forward maybe one or two more can help the England team if needed.”

Everton’s Ross Barkley, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines and John Stones have also been asked to attend.
